Head of State Volodymyr Zelensky published the results of three significant military campaigns that took place this year. In his address, the president thanked Ukrainian defenders for the results achieved and emphasised their strategic importance for strengthening the positions of the Defence Forces.

Achievements of the Air Assault Forces

The first among the operations highlighted by the president were the actions of the Air Assault Forces. Volodymyr Zelensky characterised these measures as extremely substantial, reporting that as a result, more than 800 square kilometres of territory were liberated. It is worth noting that in the cited fragment of the statement, the country's leader did not specify the geographical boundaries or the timeframes for the conduct of these combat operations.

Results of the "Vivaldi" operation in Donetsk region

The second priority direction named by the president was the "Vivaldi" operation in Donetsk region. According to Zelensky, Ukrainian troops operated in areas where the Russian command had ambitious plans and was conducting numerous assault attacks. It was possible to liberate over 200 km² of territory. Thus, the total area of land returned to Ukrainian control within the framework of these two operations exceeded 1,000 km². This figure relates to specific combat tasks and is not an indicator of the overall change in the area of territory under Ukrainian control across the entire front.

"Veles" operation and the positions of the "Hartia" corps

The third landmark operation the president linked to the actions of the "Hartia" corps under the name "Veles" on the Kupiansk direction. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasised that these measures allow for strengthening the defence and hinder the implementation of Russian plans in this region.

The specific area of territories liberated during the "Veles" operation was not named by the president in this context. Therefore, the territorial results of this campaign cannot be added to the general figure of over 1,000 km² without separate confirmed data.

Context of combat operations

Volodymyr Zelensky thanked all Ukrainian soldiers for their work. His statement focuses on the results of specific operations, which he considers critically important for countering the intentions of the Russian command and strengthening Ukrainian positions.

Previously, there were reports of an underground counter-offensive operation "Veles" on the Kupiansk direction. According to military data, Ukrainian units advanced more than 15 kilometres through underground communications, combining this with surface operations and drone strikes. It is also known about the "Impassible" operation by fighters of the 425th Separate Assault Regiment "Skelya", who were clearing a section of a gas pipeline in the Kupiansk area, used by Russian troops for covert infiltration. The results of these measures are separate from the achievements of the "Veles" operation.
