Shift in the balance of power in air defence
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky released information on the current state of affairs regarding the country's provision of air defence systems. According to him, Russia plans to increase the production of ballistic missiles. Meanwhile, as the head of state noted, the United States of America has reduced the volumes of missile supplies for Patriot systems provided to Ukraine.
Negotiations with European partners
Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine is holding negotiations with European partners to obtain additional interceptor missiles to strengthen the protection of its airspace. However, as the president emphasised, the implementation of these plans and the transfer of the corresponding ammunition are possible only subject to obtaining consent from the American side.
Status of aid provision
Volodymyr Zelensky also reported that Ukraine has already received a portion of the necessary missiles. At the same time, he stressed the critical importance of the remaining aid arriving as soon as possible, which is essential for the effective defence of the Ukrainian sky from Russian attacks.
