Israel releases 90 Palestinian prisoners

On the night of 20 January, 90 Palestinian prisoners were released in exchange for three Israeli women who had been held captive by Hamas.

According to The Jerusalem Post, citing information from the Israeli Prison Service, the country's prison authority confirmed the release of the Palestinian prisoners. The exchange was carried out for three Israeli hostages: Romy Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari, who were freed from Hamas captivity on Sunday.

Prior to their release, the Palestinian prisoners were transferred from various Israeli prisons to Ofer Prison, located near Jerusalem. There, they underwent the necessary procedures: security checks, identification and medical examinations.
