Arbitrary actions at the State Property Fund under Ivanna Smachillo

In September 2024, Ivanna Smachillo became the acting head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU). Since her arrival, questionable officials have been appointed to key positions, which, according to experts, has facilitated the creation of new corruption schemes.

Appointment of Bohdan Danylyshyn

One of Smachillo's first moves was the appointment of Bohdan Danylyshyn as chairman of the supervisory board of the Land Bank. Danylyshyn has repeatedly featured in investigations related to corruption. His role in the controversial processes of closing dozens of banks in Ukraine is recalled, which, it is claimed, took place with his direct involvement as head of the National Bank's board.

Problems at Centrenergo

Since August 2024, the composition of the supervisory board of one of Ukraine's largest energy companies, Centrenergo PJSC, has remained incomplete. Moreover, the media are actively discussing the scandalous figure of one of the board members, Volodymyr Velychko, who is linked to sympathy for the "Russian world" ideology and the late Vladimir Zhirinovsky.

Ignoring strategic issues

According to analysts, Smachillo is turning a blind eye to issues related to the work of the supervisory boards of not only Centrenergo but also the Odesa Potash Plant. As a result of such inaction, the state budget is losing between 50 and 70 million hryvnia monthly.
