The order to capture two heights, which served as cover for the fire adjusters targeting us, was issued around 16:00. A group consisting of two tanks, three BMPs of the "Bears" company, and fighters from the "Right Sector" set out to "cleanse" the area. After some time, two BMPs returned.. one ..ours.. was missing..

My crew covered the retreat of the main group, and it was unclear what had happened to the lead vehicle of "Grey", but we had to find and rescue the guys.. We set off on a search.. We approached the site of the engagement, where I was able to establish stable radio contact with them. Although it was patchy.... I decided to determine their location using tracer rounds. In the night sky, they allowed us to pinpoint their exact location - Sasha Litvin was adjusting..

We found them… They were "stuck" in a swamp… And at any moment we were waiting for the separatists, who would come to finish them off… In Sasha's BMP lay the dead "Grizzly" and Sergey Blud with a pierced head, callsign "Sir".... I understood - we wouldn't be able to pull them out of the swamp with our BMP – we would both get stuck, like two gifts for the separatists. Moving Sergey to our BMP was risky, and what if we made it worse and he... died… I also thought that we were sitting on a plate, how clearly we were visible in the separatists' night vision devices..

I wanted to read both the Bible and the Quran ..And Someone Up There also "saw" us and did not abandon us...
Tankers came to the rescue… Thanks to them, it was possible to pull out "Grey's" vehicle and return back… Literally one minute before the enemy's mortar shelling, which had already detected our location..

And it all went like this…

The armoured group moved along the ring road. The first BMP of the "Bears" surged ahead, performing the task of the forward scout. The vehicle commander was Sasha Litvin, callsign "Grey". He was the first to spot the ambush and opened fire from an AKM, standing in the commander's "cupola". The separatists were waiting: the fire was intense, from all types of weapons, including infantry anti-tank weapons. An RPG shot from a short distance pierced the armour on the right. This shot took the life of Sergey Sedletsky, callsign "Grizzly". A fire broke out inside the vehicle. From the shockwave, the turret with the KPVT gun jumped off its bearings and jammed.
Sergey Blud was standing in the "cupola" of the combat compartment on the left side of the vehicle. The hatch, from the explosion, like a steam hammer, struck him on the helmet from above, and he lost consciousness. As it turned out later, three guys from the "Right Sector" who were on the armour were thrown to the ground by the wave. Only one remained alive: he took advantage of the darkness and managed to escape. The fate of the others remained unknown for another and a half months… Later, scouts would find them – one was burned alive by the separatists. The second - strangled by barbed wire… They finished off the wounded…
The main forces of the armoured group were drawn into the battle, taking on the main fire. The tanks shelled the ambush from a distance of 250-300 meters, shells and heavy-calibre bullets literally churned up the "greenery".
The BMP under Sasha's command was moving at speed, and thanks to this it managed to break out of the fire "bag", moving two hundred meters away from the ambush site. Where it stopped, in smoke and flames. The "Cubs" extinguished the fire, sorted out the situation, and after fifteen minutes moved forward, which under those conditions turned out to be the only correct decision. They found the nearest exit from the road to the left and drove onto a field. The guys oriented themselves in the terrain in complete darkness, found a way around the ambush site, but the BMP got stuck in a swamp on its belly. 

Sergey Blud, "Sir", was evacuated to the rear. We made it in time…

He has undergone numerous operations… The bones of the skull were literally extracted from the brain… But he is alive… Diagnosis: "Mine-explosive tangential wound, open craniocerebral injury, grade 2 brain contusion, depressed comminuted linear fracture of the left parietal bone, lacerated wound of the soft tissues of the head

He is currently recovering in a veterans' hospital. To date, only 80% of his vision has been restored, and the senses of taste and smell have been lost. In two months, in Dnipro, under the supervision of Andrey Grigoryevich Sirko, head of the neurosurgery department of the M. V.
