The data indicates that 15,474 people died without receiving the necessary surgeries or diagnostic procedures. If regions that did not submit their data are taken into account, the actual number of deaths may be significantly higher, approaching 28,077.

In addition, the study shows that nearly 75,000 deaths among patients on waiting lists were recorded in Canada between 2018 and 2019, although the country's government does not officially publish this data.
