Aviation expert: mass countermeasures against jet-powered Shaheds in Ukraine unlikely before six months

Ukraine will remain vulnerable to the threat posed by Russian jet-powered unmanned aerial vehicles for the next six months. This assessment was made by aviation expert Bohdan Dolynets, who noted that the mass destruction of such targets is currently impossible.

Why interceptions are delayed

According to the expert, the active use of jet-powered interceptors to combat Shahed-type drones will not begin earlier than in two months. He cites the technical status of the process as the main reason for this delay: the first prototypes only recently completed test flights, and production capacities still need to be scaled up to ensure a constant flow of air defence assets.

Outlook for winter

Dolynets emphasised that due to the described production and technical limitations, Ukraine will not be able to effectively and massively counter the enemy's jet-powered drones in winter. This means that the air defence system will remain under pressure until full-scale production of the corresponding interceptors is established.
