Jamala gets married

Famous Ukrainian singer and Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala got married today. The artist’s chosen one was her partner, Bekir Suleymanov.

The wedding took place today, 26 April, at the Islamic Cultural Centre in the Ukrainian capital.

The ceremony was conducted according to Crimean Tatar traditions. The rite is called nikah.

The singer received a proposal last autumn, but did not rush into marriage, postponing it until the warmer months.

Jamala and her partner are both Crimean Tatars by birth. They currently both live in Kyiv.
