App hack as the cause of false information spread

Yuriy Ignat, spokesperson for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that the mobile application 'Air Alert' was likely hacked. This information emerged against the backdrop of the spread of false messages that caused concern among the country's residents.

«За нашими даними, додаток "Повітряна тривога" був зламаний» (According to our data, the 'Air Alert' app was hacked), Ignat noted in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.

False warnings about threats in Kyiv

Ukrainians received notifications that did not correspond to reality. Among the widespread fakes were mentions of the threat of using 'Oreshnik', radiation danger, a possible chemical attack, and street fighting in the capital.

It is known that none of these threats are real, and the appearance of such information is linked to the hacking of the application.
