Law enforcement managed to prevent a violent crime in the Kyiv region. On 22 October 2026, police in Vyshhorod detained a 21-year-old local resident who intended to attack a 52-year-old woman. On the same day, 22 October, two more members of the criminal group were detained in the capital. Police took men aged 37 and 54 into custody. According to the investigation, these Kyiv residents were involved in organising and preparing the attack.
Law enforcement established that the group's probable criminal activity may not have been limited to a single incident. Investigators are verifying information about the possible involvement of the detained individuals in organising other violent crimes, as well as in the intentional damage of others' property, specifically through arson. In addition, a version is being considered regarding the preparation by the suspects of other especially grave crimes on commission.
All three detained individuals were charged with attempted intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm. The court ruled to keep the men in custody without the possibility of release on bail.
