From humanitarian mission to the front

Nate Vance, the cousin of US Vice President JD Vance, revealed the motives behind his decision to join the ranks of the Ukrainian military. According to BBC, the US citizen initially arrived in Ukraine solely for the purpose of providing humanitarian aid.

However, the situation changed after he visited Bucha, which Ukrainian defenders had liberated from Russian occupiers. The consequences of the occupation he witnessed became the decisive factor. According to Vance, he is convinced that humanitarian support alone was insufficient. Therefore, he decided to join the Ukrainian army as soon as he found a unit where he could serve.

Assessment of nuclear war risks

During the interview, the American also commented on the possibility of Russia using nuclear weapons. Nate Vance believes that Moscow would only dare to take such a step in the event of an extremely serious threat to its own existence.

As an example of such a scenario, he cited the direct advance of NATO troops to the Russian capital. At the same time, Vance is convinced that European states would not stand by if Vladimir Putin ordered a nuclear strike on any of them.

It is worth noting that Nate Vance is the cousin of JD Vance, who holds the position of US Vice President in Donald Trump's administration.
