Vessel detention at the border
On 24 October, at the Budomierz border crossing point (Poland), the Border Guard seized a motor yacht that a 44-year-old Ukrainian citizen was transporting on a trailer towards Ukraine. The Regal-brand vessel was being transported on a special trailer. During the inspection, officers found discrepancies in the vessel's identification numbers and its date of manufacture.
Data discrepancies
The main reason for the seizure was the discrepancies found in the watercraft's identification numbers and information regarding its date of manufacture. Due to these discrepancies, permission to cross the border for the vessel was not granted.
Damage assessment and investigation
The preliminary value of the seized property is approximately 200,000 zloty. The man who was transporting the yacht was questioned as a witness. Currently, Polish Border Guard officers have launched an investigation aimed at establishing the origin of the watercraft.
Other cases at the border
Previously, Polish border guards had detected attempts to smuggle stolen vehicles. Specifically, on 12 September, at the Medyka border crossing point (Beskid Detachment), two cars travelling towards Ukraine were stopped. Both vehicles had been stolen in Sweden, and their data appeared in the international search systems SIS and Interpol. There is also information about a case where a batch of stolen auto parts was discovered, which were being transported by Ukrainian citizens.
