Victims of the attack on the railway hub
On 29 October, five Ukrzaliznytsia employees were killed as a result of a Russian drone strike on the railway station in Dnipro. This was announced by the "Iron Family" charity project, which published the personal details and stories of the deceased workers.
Yevhen Kryvko: assisting passengers during evacuation
One of the deceased was 38-year-old Yevhen Kryvko, who held the position of first-category specialist. According to representatives of "Iron Family", he was assisting passengers during the evacuation. At the moment of danger, when people needed support, he remained by their side and fulfilled his duties. His service took on a tragic hue: a person who was meant to help others himself became a victim of an enemy strike.
Yevhen is survived by his wife and two sons: nine-year-old Illia and three-year-old Danylo.
Train attendants Viktoriia Nosikova and Kateryna Borisova
Viktoriia Nosikova, who worked as a train attendant on a passenger train being prepared for departure near a suburban electric train, was also killed. The woman was injured while moving towards a shelter. Viktoriia was from the Donetsk region, and her tenure at the railway exceeded 20 years. Colleagues remember her as an exceptionally responsible, disciplined, and conscientious employee who always cared about passenger comfort.
Another victim was train attendant Kateryna Borisova, who was also caught in the attack while heading to a shelter. Kateryna was from the Kirovohrad region and had worked as a conductor on local trains for 24 years. In 2015, she received a commemorative watch from the railway head, and this year she was awarded an honorary certificate from the Joint-Stock Company "Ukrzaliznytsia".
Yana Shpakova: children's space administrator
32-year-old Yana Shpakova, the administrator of the children's space at the Dnipro station, was killed at the scene of the strike. The woman had worked at the railway for 13 years and during that time became part of the Ukrzaliznytsia team. Yana started her career selling railway tickets and later coordinated the work of the children's space, where she paid attention to younger passengers. Yana is survived by her 15-year-old daughter, Myroslava, whom she raised on her own.
Ruslan Dil: electric locomotive driver
48-year-old Ruslan Dil from Synelnykove was also killed. After graduating from the Dnipropetrovsk Vocational and Technical College, he worked at the railway for nearly 30 years. During this time, Ruslan progressed from assistant electric locomotive driver to electric locomotive driver. On the day of the attack, the railway worker was on leave and was returning home by train from Zhmerynka to the "Dnipro" station, where he planned to transfer to an electric train heading towards Zaporizhzhia. The man is survived by two children: son Rostyslav and daughter Polina, as well as his mother and sister.
