A $20 million divorce

The uproar surrounding the divorce of Evgeny Petrosyan and his wife Elena Stepanenko has not subsided for days. After a long period of cohabitation, the couple failed to part amicably and decided to divide more than $20 million acquired during their marriage in court.

According to Petrosyan's lawyer, Sergey Zhorin, Stepanenko was offered 50% of all jointly acquired property and funds. However, she refused and demanded more.

In fact, this is the right decision. Had Elena Stepanenko agreed to half, she would likely not have received even one-third of the total assets. In the same scenario, she will definitely get 50% in court, and perhaps a little more on top of that.

It is worth recalling that the cause of the divorce was a romance between the 72-year-old Petrosyan and his 28-year-old assistant. At this point, it is not just grey hair in the beard.
