Differences in enemy tactics on the borders of three regions

Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Service of Ukraine, commented on the current situation in areas bordering Russia. According to him, the aggressor's tactics differ in Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions.

(The situation within the three regions – Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv, which share a border with the terrorist state – is different. Along the direction of our border in Chernihiv region, the enemy does not use infantry groups. Infantry groups are attempting to attack specifically within the boundaries of Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The situation is most active in Kharkiv region, particularly within the Vovchansk and Vilkhuvatka communities), Demchenko informed.

Activity in Sumy region and absence of sabotage attempts

According to the spokesperson, Russian military activity is also observed in Sumy region, particularly towards certain settlements in the Konotop and Shostka communities. However, the intensity of actions there is significantly lower than in Kharkiv region.

Regarding sabotage and reconnaissance groups (SRGs), Demchenko recalled that their presence was previously recorded in Chernihiv and Sumy regions. However, these groups were detected and expelled from Ukrainian territory.

(In recent days, fortunately, no attempts by the enemy to use sabotage and reconnaissance groups have been recorded), he added.

Mass shelling and destruction of UAVs

Although the enemy does not use infantry groups in Chernihiv region, Russian forces continue to shell border areas of all three regions, using various types of weapons. The fewest shelling incidents occur in Chernihiv region, while the majority are in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

(The enemy does not stop shelling the borders of these three border regions, applying probably all available weapons. Again, fewer shelling incidents are recorded within Chernihiv region; as before, the majority are in Sumy and Kharkiv regions), the spokesperson said.

Separately, Demchenko noted that in Chernihiv region, State Border Service units are attempting to destroy drones that enter from Russian territory and move towards the border with Belarus, where repeaters are activated.

(Just in the past day, for example, components of State Border Service units destroyed nearly 40 Russian 'Shaheds' and 'Gerbers', the majority of which were within Chernihiv region), the spokesperson concluded.
