Change in faction leadership

A change in the head of the 'For the Future' party faction has taken place in the Volyn Oblast Council. Roman Mykytiuk, who previously held positions as head of five customs offices, has become the new chair. His predecessor in this role was Ihor Leh.

Roman Mykytiuk is currently a deputy of the Volyn Oblast Council from the 'For the Future' party. This political force was founded and launched in 2020 under the leadership of Ihor Palitsia, for whom Volyn remains one of the key regions.

Customs career and scandals

Mykytiuk's professional path in the customs sector was accompanied by scandals.

In 2011, when Mykytiuk headed the Lviv Customs Office, his deputy, Klavdiia Kutykina, was detained for taking a bribe. Following this incident, Mykytiuk was transferred to work in Vinnytsia.

The next episode occurred in 2013. At that time, Mykytiuk was suspended from heading the Yagodyn Customs Office for the period of a comprehensive audit by the Ministry of Revenue and Duties.

In summary, before entering the Volyn Oblast Council, Roman Mykytiuk successively headed the Volyn, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Rivne, and Yagodyn customs offices.
