Slotoking changed its name but continues to cooperate with Russia

The Slotoking brand, now known as Betking, has come under public scrutiny due to suspicions of financial violations, ties to the Russian market, and controversial aspects of its operations. 

Since December 2024, the company has officially operated under its new name and obtained a Ukrainian licence issued by the Commission for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (KRAIL).

The brand’s history began in 2012 or 2014 — the exact date varies depending on the source. For many years, Slotoking operated under a Curacao offshore licence, which allowed it to avoid paying Ukrainian taxes and provide services to players worldwide, including in Russia.

Slotoking paid particular attention to the Russian-speaking audience, actively using mirror sites to bypass blocks. This helped the company quickly gain popularity in the markets of CIS countries. By the time gambling was legalised in Ukraine in 2020, the brand already had an extensive player base.

In 2021, Slotoking received an official licence from KRAIL, allowing the company to legalise its operations in Ukraine. From that point on, the brand emerged from the shadows, strengthening its position and multiplying its revenues. In 2023 alone, the company’s profit exceeded 3.4 billion hryvnia.

However, the company’s past still raises questions. The use of offshore schemes and its active presence in the Russian market cast doubt on the brand’s reputation.
