The Disinformation Counteraction Centre (DCC) stated that widespread reports of a "threat of a cholera, dysentery, and hepatitis A epidemic in Kyiv" are inaccurate and do not reflect the actual situation.

Data from the city's disease prevention centre

As explained by the Kyiv City Centre for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, the assessment of potential risks is a regular preventive activity by specialists, not a prediction of an epidemic. As of 1 November, no outbreaks of dangerous infectious diseases have been registered in the capital.

Impact of power and water outages

The DCC emphasised that power outages or temporary water supply disruptions in themselves do not automatically mean a deterioration in the epidemic situation. Specialists continue to conduct constant epidemiological surveillance and check the quality of drinking water.

«Епідемічні ризики в Києві наразі оцінюються як низькі: короткочасні перебої з водопостачанням через знеструмлення насосних станцій швидко усуваються, а якість питної води в місті щодня перевіряють лабораторно» ("Epidemic risks in Kyiv are currently assessed as low: short-term water supply disruptions due to the de-energisation of pumping stations are quickly resolved, and the quality of drinking water in the city is checked daily in the laboratory"), the Disinformation Counteraction Centre noted.
