A 12-year-old boy from Ukraine was hospitalised after unknown teenagers sprayed him with pepper spray in the face. The incident occurred on Sunday in Krakow, Poland, near the Serenada shopping centre. According to available information, the aggression was triggered by the child’s answer to a question about where he was from.

Circumstances of the incident

According to reports, the event took place between approximately 16:00 and 16:30 on a pedestrian crossing near a McDonald’s restaurant on Bora-Komorowskiego Street. Several teenagers approached the child and asked which country he was from. As soon as the boy stated that he was from Ukraine, the attackers sprayed pepper spray into his face and mouth at close range.

As a result of the attack, the child suffered skin burns, severe pain, and irritation of the mucous membranes. Distinctive green traces from the substance used remained on the boy’s body and clothing.

Medical assistance and parents’ actions

Following the attack, the boy spent the rest of the day in the emergency department (SOR) of a local hospital with his parents. Medical staff documented the injuries and prepared the relevant paperwork, including an official medical certificate.

The victim’s family is preparing an official report for the VII Police Commissioner’s Office in Krakow (Komisariat Policji VII w Krakowie). The parents are trying to find a lawyer in Krakow with experience in handling criminal cases and protecting the rights of minors. Their goal is to identify the attackers and ensure they are held accountable.

Investigation

It is known that municipal video surveillance cameras operate in the area where the aggression took place. Footage from them may help identify the attackers. Currently, no information about the attackers or official results of the investigation has been provided. The circumstances of the incident require further verification.
