Growing economic impact

Ukrainian citizens residing in Poland made a significant economic contribution in 2025. According to expert estimates, their contribution amounted to approximately 94 billion zloty, equivalent to 2.4% of the country's gross domestic product. These figures are presented in a new report prepared jointly by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Deloitte.

Employment trends

Analytics indicate a steady growth in the economic activity of Ukrainians. If their contribution to GDP was around 2% in 2023 and 2.3% in 2024, it reached 2.4% in 2025. Researchers predict that by 2035, the contribution could rise to 2.8%.

A key factor in this growth is the active integration of Ukrainians into the Polish labour market. The employment rate among refugees from Ukraine rose from 61% in 2023 to 76% in 2025. For context, the overall employment rate among the population of Poland was around 75%. It is noted that 87% of Ukrainian refugee households received income from work.

Balance in healthcare

A separate section of the study is dedicated to the healthcare system. According to data published in the report, in 2025, contributions related to the presence of Ukrainian refugees exceeded the National Health Fund's (NFZ) expenditure on their medical care. The calculated positive difference in this balance was approximately 1.8 billion zloty.
