Water supply suspension in the capital

Water supply has been temporarily suspended in parts of Kyiv. As reported by Kyivvodokanal, the cause was damage to the city's energy infrastructure resulting from Russian shelling.

Power outage at key facilities

As of 3 November, it was reported that due to enemy attacks and damage to the capital's energy system, the main water supply facilities of Kyivvodokanal had been left without power. The organisation stated that water supply in the city is currently temporarily absent.

Recovery process and technical details

Specialists from Kyivvodokanal, together with energy workers, are already working to restore the water supply. The statement emphasised that even after power is restored, a certain amount of time will be required to carry out the following actions:

  • starting up the equipment;
  • filling the water distribution networks;
  • stabilising pressure in the system.

Alternative water sources

Kyivvodokanal reminded residents that a network of drinking fountain complexes operates in Kyiv, where people can collect drinking water. The location of the nearest fountains can be checked on the electronic map.
