Assessment of the situation regarding air defence supply

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that delays in supplying interceptor missiles for Patriot and NASAMS air defence systems are artificial. According to him, such gaps help Russia hit targets during air attacks on Ukraine.

Impact on the protection of critical infrastructure

Zelensky emphasised that the timely supply of air defence equipment is of vital importance for protecting Ukraine's energy sector, logistics, and urban infrastructure.

Decision by the US Secretary of War

The day before, the President reported that US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth has not approved the relevant supply for almost a month. According to Zelensky, delays in transferring interceptors weaken Ukraine's ability to counter Russian missile and drone attacks.
