Journalist Yuri Nikolov published an analysis of wiretap recordings indicating a direct link between the Russian FSB and the criminal case against NABU detective Ruslan Magomedrasulov. According to the journalist, the materials demonstrate the mechanism by which the Russian intelligence agency helped create artificial grounds for the imprisonment of the Ukrainian law enforcement officer.
In 2025, Magomedrasulov was placed in a pre-trial detention centre. He was accused of allegedly trading technical hemp with Russian Dagestan together with his father. However, as Nikolov emphasises, the detective's father's business contacts were limited exclusively to Uzbekistan.
The recording mentions the leader of the 'Khimprom' drug cartel, identified on the tapes as 'The Mexican', as well as an intermediary named Osipov, nicknamed 'Criminal', who, according to the journalist, is close to SBU head Maliuk. The materials also mention other participants in the events.
Nikolov notes that one SBU officer discovered that his colleagues had used FSB resources to artificially link Magomedrasulov's phone number to Dagestan. Thus, to imprison the detective who had previously exposed the activities of the Mindich group, Ukrainian intelligence officers, in the journalist's view, turned to their Russian counterparts for help.
According to Nikolov, an SBU officer decided to provide NABU with testimony regarding his colleagues' cooperation with the FSB. Following this, 'The Mexican', who is known to cooperate with the Russian intelligence agency himself, and corrupt Ukrainian representatives became involved in the situation.
The journalist also recalled that Vladimir Putin has repeatedly publicly expressed opposition to NABU, whose activities hindered the Russian president.
Commenting on the wiretap, Nikolov wrote: «Блять, це просто ужас. І це далеко не кінець((( Я продовжую слухати цей трешак» ("Fuck, this is just terrible. And this is far from the end((( I keep listening to this trash").
