Former head of the Khmelnytskyi Regional Centre for Medical and Social Expertise, Tatiana Krupa, who is suspected of illegal enrichment, organised a costly trip to Turkey just weeks before her detention.
According to official data, the purpose of the visit was medical treatment at the Acibadem Altunizade clinic in Istanbul. However, investigators established that Krupa spent a significant portion of her time in the resort town of Fethiye, located 700 kilometres from the stated medical facility.
Law enforcement officers found an electronic copy of a letter addressed to Health Minister Viktor Lyashko in Tatiana Krupa’s phone. In the document, Krupa requested permission to undergo diagnostics and treatment at a Turkish clinic from 25 July to 25 August 2024. Simultaneously, she was in correspondence with a person who was to assist with obtaining an invitation from the medical institution.
In one of the messages, Krupa writes frankly:
«Нужно передать деньги и обсудить, как можно оставить след в клинике — если поступит запрос из Украины, чтобы ответили, что я действительно лечилась. Лучше бы клиника вообще не отвечала» (Money needs to be transferred and we need to discuss how to leave a trace at the clinic — if a request comes from Ukraine, so that they answer that I was indeed being treated. It would be better if the clinic did not respond at all).
Investigators also examined Krupa’s correspondence with a travel agent, which discussed booking premium apartments in the Fethiye resort area. The holiday was planned for the dates 1 to 15 August (the tour was valued at 833,600 hryvnias) and 11 to 25 August (already 1.13 million hryvnias). In the correspondence, Krupa sent photos of her documents and a man’s passport, presumably her husband’s.
According to investigation data, Krupa did indeed spend time in Fethiye during the period when she was supposed to be at the medical facility.
One of the interesting findings of the investigation was the suspect’s cryptocurrency assets. During the search of the mobile phone, detectives found evidence of digital wallets, although specific amounts have not yet been disclosed.
