Energy Ministry confirms 1bn cubic metre shortfall

Ukraine's energy sector continues to face severe pressure due to Russian strikes on critical infrastructure. The Ministry of Energy confirmed that the gas extraction industry has encountered significant challenges, leading to a shortage of energy resources.

Additional gas volumes will be required this year

Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko stated that Ukraine will need at least 1bn cubic metres of gas by the end of the current year to meet demand. According to him, the issue of accumulating reserves for the next heating season must be addressed immediately to avoid a potential energy crisis.

Winter preparations become a priority

In light of the current situation, the government is considering various scenarios for replenishing gas storage facilities, as well as measures to strengthen energy security. Ukraine continues to work on increasing its own production and cooperating with international partners to ensure the stability of supplies.
