Should Donald Trump return to the White House, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) could face large-scale cuts.

According to preliminary plans, nearly all of its more than 10,000 employees would be dismissed, leaving only 294 staff members.

In some overseas offices, USAID may retain just one employee, which would effectively paralyse the agency's operations in several regions.
