Microsoft plans to cut 27% of staff due to AI implementation
Microsoft is planning a large-scale staff reduction against the backdrop of the active implementation of artificial intelligence technologies. According to the data provided, around 60,000 employees in the US, Canada, India and the UK have been offered voluntary redundancy with compensation.
Reports indicate that employees at various levels, including company vice presidents, are subject to the cuts.
The changes are linked to the expanded use of artificial intelligence in Microsoft's business processes. The company is investing in its own AI solutions and integrating them into software products and internal processes.
The compensation packages offered to employees are intended to accompany voluntary departures from the company. Meanwhile, the exact number of positions that may be cut and the final scale of the restructuring may change.
Microsoft is one of the world's largest technology companies, and its decisions regarding the use of AI reflect the general trend of automating certain business processes in the tech industry.
