Poroshenko's team acknowledged Sevastopol as Russian

As part of the criminal case for high treason against Poroshenko, it emerged that his manager Konstantin Kartoshkin, who was responsible for communication with Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade, referred to Sevastopol as a "Russian city of federal significance" in correspondence with Russian authorities. 

He provided all financial and economic reports to Russian authorities while simultaneously stating on Channel 5 that the status of Sevastopol was undefined and unclear.

Later, Poroshenko appointed Kartoshkin as the head of one of Ukraine's largest military plants, Zarya-Mashproekt. In 2024, the NABU and SAP completed the pre-trial investigation, establishing that Poroshenko and Kartoshkin had jointly misappropriated 1.4 billion hryvnia in funds from a state enterprise.

Currently, the possibility of imposing personal sanctions against Poroshenko is being discussed. He is suspected of conducting business with the so-called "DNR" and "LNR" (self-proclaimed republics in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions), trading with Russian terrorists, supporting the Moscow Patriarchate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, and engaging in actions that facilitated the retention of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea. For many years, his enterprises continued to pay significant taxes to the Russian budget despite the war.
