Apple plans to release new smartphone

Insider Mark Gurman reported that in 2025, Apple plans to release a new smartphone that will serve as a testing ground for the implementation of cutting-edge technologies. 

This model, dubbed iPhone Air, promises to set new standards in the company's device lineup.

iPhone Air features

According to Engadget, citing Gurman's statement, the upcoming iPhone 17 Air will be noticeably thinner than its predecessors — by 2 mm. Rumours about the creation of an ultra-thin version of the iPhone have been circulating for several months, and it has now been revealed that the device will become part of the iPhone 17 lineup.

The new model will feature:

• An entry-level A19 processor — energy-efficient and powerful enough for basic tasks.
• A single-lens camera, designed for everyday use.
• Apple's first in-house modem, which is also planned to be used in the next generation of the iPhone SE.

The company's developers are considering the iPhone Air as a platform for testing new technologies, which may subsequently be used in more complex devices.

iPad update

In addition, in 2025, Apple may present an updated entry-level iPad. The tablet is expected to be compatible with Apple Intelligence — a new system for smart devices.

The assumed specifications of the iPad include:

• An A17 Pro chip, ensuring high performance.
• 8 GB of RAM, which will significantly improve multitasking.

The announcement of the new iPad may take place as early as spring, simultaneously with the presentation of the updated iPhone SE and new iPad Air models.
