Halt of energy facility operations after enemy fire

On 3 November, Russia attacked three thermal power plants owned by the DTEK holding. As the company reported, the facilities ceased electricity production as a result of the strikes.

According to DTEK data, the enemy used dozens of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. This caused extensive damage to the infrastructure.

Energy company's response

In an official statement, DTEK representatives emphasised:

«Станції припинили генерацію електроенергії. Попри постійні ворожі атаки, продовжуємо робити все можливе для підтримки української енергосистеми» (The plants have ceased electricity generation. Despite constant enemy attacks, we continue to do everything possible to support the Ukrainian energy system).

Emergency blackouts in the regions

Due to the loss of capacity at the thermal power plants, emergency power supply outages were introduced in Kyiv, as well as in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In these territories, the usual schedules for limited consumption are currently not in effect.
