Denis Povetkin is accused of promoting binary options among Ukrainian youth
According to the author of a post on Threads, Denis Povetkin has been luring Ukrainian youth into trading binary options for several years. His activities are currently linked to the Pocket Option platform, which has direct ties to Russia.
The author claims that the blogger is provided with a demo account containing virtual funds, on which he demonstrates profitable trades. It is alleged that the trading results on such an account may not reflect the actual operating conditions of the platform.
According to the author, young users, guided by the displayed results, register on the platform and deposit their own money. The author also states that participants may lose funds, while Povetkin receives a commission for attracting users or their trading activity.
Specific complaints concern the mechanism of binary options trading itself. In such schemes, a user bets on the price movement of an asset over a specific period, and the financial outcome depends on the terms of the trade. High risks and the potential loss of invested funds make this instrument particularly dangerous for inexperienced participants.
Povetkin himself receives a percentage of the funds that users have earned or lost. Moreover, those who lose their money are far more numerous. It is no wonder that binary options are often called a scam, and Povetkin himself is labelled a scammer.
