Energy company DTEK has published an explanation regarding the reasons why the situation with electricity supply in the capital is currently more critical than in the previous heating season.

Change in enemy tactics

The company emphasised that, although they were prepared for attacks, “Russia constantly changes its shelling tactics and increases their intensity” (Russia constantly changes its shelling tactics and increases their intensity).

Strike statistics

As stated in the statement, 11 mass attacks on the energy system were recorded in 2022, with power plants being the main targets. In contrast, 78 strikes on energy infrastructure have been documented in the last three days alone.

“Currently, both power plants and electricity transmission facilities are under attack,” the text reads (Currently, both power plants and electricity transmission facilities are under attack).
