During a discussion at the Warsaw Security Forum, Republican congressman Dan Crenshaw expressed the conviction that the United States can do more to support Ukraine. He proposed expanding Ukraine's capabilities in using Starlink satellite communications over Russian territory. In his words, this would help Ukrainian forces strike ballistic missile launchers used to attack Ukrainian cities.
(I would like us to do more. Don't get me wrong, I can speak for myself here. I want us to give Ukrainians what they want — Starlink over Russia so they can strike these ballistic missile launchers that are killing Ukrainian civilians every day), Crenshaw stated.
Separately, the American politician drew attention to the shortage of interceptor missiles necessary for air and missile defence. He noted that positive news regarding the joint licensing of the production of such systems may emerge in the near future.
(I think we are on the verge of seeing a lot of good news regarding the joint licensing of interceptor production. This is a major problem faced by everyone in the world: there are not enough interceptors), the congressman added.
Crenshaw emphasised that this issue concerns not only Ukraine but also other countries that require protection from air and missile attacks.
During his speech, Dan Crenshaw also supported the practical implementation of US legislation on sanctions against Russia. He stressed the need to continue using sanctions mechanisms in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine.
