Lubinets: Ukraine and Russia coordinating silence regime for evacuation from Oleshky

Ukraine and Russia are at the stage of final coordination of the details necessary to organise the evacuation of the civilian population from Oleshky and neighbouring communities in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region. According to the current plan, all willing residents are to be transported directly to territory under the control of the Ukrainian authorities.

Resolving technical aspects

The current state of the negotiations was reported by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets. According to him, the parties are working on agreeing a silence regime necessary for the safe conduct of the evacuation.

«Там залишаються, скажімо так, непрості питання, але найближчим часом я сподіваюсь, що ми всі побачимо конкретні результати від цих перемовин» (There remain, so to speak, difficult issues, but in the near future I hope that we will all see concrete results from these negotiations), the human rights defender noted.

At the time the information was released, a final agreement on all nuances of the operation had not yet been concluded. The specific start date of the evacuation, as well as the exact number of people planning to leave the occupied territories, is currently not specified.
