Peskov: Putin awaits Zelensky's initiative for phone call

Kremlin sets condition for contact with Kyiv

Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the administration of the President of Russia, stated that Vladimir Putin intends to hold a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky. However, according to the Kremlin representative, the Ukrainian side has not yet put forward the corresponding initiative to establish contact.

Readiness for dialogue with European leaders

Peskov added that this position applies not only to the Ukrainian president. According to him, readiness for phone negotiations also extends to the head of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz.

Kyiv's position on negotiations

It was previously reported that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is ready to discuss the most complex and sensitive issues with the Russian dictator, including the territorial one. It is noted that for Kyiv, the location of the meeting is not a matter of principle, provided that it does not take place on the territory of Moscow or Belarus.
