Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Pivnenko provided clarification regarding the current situation in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka. According to him, military personnel set up a temporary stay point in one of the buildings in the settlement.

Health status of personnel

According to the head of the NGU, four soldiers who left the unit without permission and required medical assistance have already been delivered to the National Guard medical centre. Another 18 servicemen remained in the premises. Pivnenko assured that they are all well and emphasised that the fighters have the opportunity to maintain contact with their relatives by phone.

Reasons for relocation and security

The head of the National Guard acknowledged the need to urgently relocate the troops to another location due to the threat of a Russian missile strike. He explained the temporary confiscation of mobile phones from the fighters as a security requirement to avoid leakage of data about the location of the facility.

Pivnenko also appealed to citizens to refrain from attempts to forcibly enter the territory and not to provoke an escalation of the situation.

Investigation of the incident

The Commander separately emphasised that the "Khartiia" unit has no connection to this situation. An official investigation has been appointed, the course of which Pivnenko will personally monitor. In case of violations, all guilty persons will be held accountable.
