Prykhodko: Ukrainians are getting poorer, businesses are closing, and reality does not match the reports

Well-known performer Anastasia Prykhodko sharply commented on the current state of affairs in Ukraine, drawing attention to the deterioration of the population's welfare. The artist emphasised that reality for the average Ukrainian differs significantly from official data and government reports.

Criticism of rising utility tariffs

In a conversation with the "Superposition" project, Prykhodko expressed dissatisfaction with the new conditions for doing business and the general price level. She reacted particularly sharply to changes in the utility services sector, despite previous assurances of tariff stability.

«А газ і світло вони обіцяли не підвищувати? А чому вони все це підвищують? І для бізнесу, і тут підвищують, хоча обіцяли цього не робити. Що це означає? Ми катимось у задницю!» (But they promised not to raise the prices for gas and electricity? Why are they raising all of this? They are raising it for business and here, although they promised not to do so. What does this mean? We are rolling downhill!), the performer stated emotionally.

Reaction to advice regarding outages

Anastasia placed a separate emphasis on her critical attitude towards the recommendations provided to citizens in the event of possible electricity and heating outages.

«Отже, купіть портативний акумулятор, обкладіться грілками… Побудуйте собі ще й бомбосховище, а в 2027-му у вас має бути власне ППО, щоб ви могли працювати, чи як?» (So, buy a portable battery, surround yourself with heaters... Build yourself an air raid shelter as well, and in 2027 you should have your own air defence system so that you can work, or what?), Prykhodko asked rhetorically.

Socio-economic pressure and health problems

The performer described in detail the socio-economic pressure on the population, specifically the process of people becoming poorer and the closure of enterprises. She recalled that restaurants are closing, and there is often not enough money for medicines.

«І люди бідніють, і бізнес закривається, ресторани закриваються, на ліки не вистачає. У мене мама зараз… дві операції поспіль з встановленням стентів. І ліки потрібні: 4 200 я заплатила їй лише за місяць. А пенсія у нас мінімальна — скільки?» (And people are getting poorer, and business is closing, restaurants are closing, there is not enough for medicines. My mother is currently... two consecutive operations with stent placement. And medicines are needed: I paid her 4,200 for just one month. And our pension is minimal — how much is it?), the artist said.

According to Prykhodko, there is a deep chasm between how the situation is presented in the media space and the real living conditions of ordinary Ukrainians.
