Kostya Kudo's suicide: court seizes supercars, creditors demand $400,000

The death of Kostiantyn Hanych, a trader well-known in the crypto community who operated under the pseudonym Kostya Kudo, did not put an end to his financial obligations. On the contrary, court disputes with creditors have intensified around his estate, and law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the activities of the educational project Cryptology Key associated with him. The National Securities and Stock Market Commission (NSSC) has already included this brand in the list of potentially dangerous SCAM projects.

Court claims and asset seizure

According to the court registry, at least four civil lawsuits filed by individuals who lost funds are currently being considered. In two of these cases, the claims amount to 400,000 US dollars. To prevent the concealment of assets until the conclusion of the proceedings, the court placed a seizure on part of the estate: a 1/5 share of an apartment in a nine-storey building on Pivnichna Street in Kyiv, bank accounts at JSC "Universal Bank", and two cars — a Lamborghini Urus and a Ferrari 296 GTB.

The official value of the estate is estimated at approximately 600,000 US dollars. However, according to media assumptions, the deceased's actual liabilities could have reached 30–60 million dollars. Some of Hanych's "partners", who transferred him funds or stablecoins for trading, are now demanding the return of money from the heirs — Kostiantyn's parents, Halyna and Taras Hanych, as well as his ex-wife, Anastasiia Klimova.

Hanych's suicide occurred against the backdrop of a massive crypto market crash and as a result of the instantaneous loss of investor funds. After this, the structure of his business collapsed, and "partners" went to court.

Among the plaintiffs:

  • Tetiana Chemycheva demands the return of 296,874 USDT (nearly 300,000 US dollars) under two investment agreements;
  • Ivan-Vladyslav Kirkach is suing for 100,000 dollars;
  • Mykola Khatmullin and Oleksandr Lysenko filed lawsuits to recover debts, but the specific amounts of their claims are not disclosed.

It is important to note that under the Civil Code of Ukraine, heirs are liable for the deceased's debts only within the limits of the value of the property received. Civil lawsuits themselves do not prove fraud but indicate the existence of financial disputes.

Investigation of tax violations

In addition to private lawsuits, the Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) is investigating a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (evasion of tax payment in especially large amounts). The case was opened in May 2025, while Hanych was still alive. Detectives established that profits from the sale of Cryptology Key courses were distributed among 29 controlled individual entrepreneurs (IEs). This allowed them to conceal the scale of the business, avoid paying 20% VAT and 18% corporate income tax, and fail to formally employ actual staff.

Preliminarily, the BEB estimated the amount of unpaid taxes for 2023–2024 at 70.1 million UAH, of which 36.8 million UAH was VAT and 33.3 million UAH was corporate income tax. These data are the result of a pre-trial investigation and require confirmation by a judicial-economic expert examination.

Tokens and the mechanics of Pump&Dump

A separate episode of the investigation concerns the issuance of five tokens: Furmula, Emoji, Water, Rafpaf, and Popcorn, the appearance of which is linked to the Cryptology Key circle. According to the investigation, the course audience was encouraged to buy these assets, creating an illusion of high demand through artificial buying of tokens from controlled wallets. When students bought coins at the price peak, the organizers withdrew liquidity (SOL and USDT), leaving buyers with devalued assets. This scheme is known as Pump&Dump. Currently, these tokens cost fractions of a cent, and daily trading volumes amount to a few dollars, indicating a complete halt of the projects.

The investigation assumes that the funds obtained from the token issuance were invested in premium-class real estate and elite vehicles, specifically the same Lamborghini Urus and Ferrari 296 GTB that belonged to Hanych.

Ownership structure and the London "facade"

The educational project Cryptology Key did not have a separate legal entity in Ukraine under that name. The rights to the "CryptologyKey" trademark (certificate No. 335729, registered on 26.07.2023) belonged to three individuals in equal shares: Kostiantyn Hanych, Vadym Voloshyn, and Allan Kurban-Magomedov. Each of them had their own companies and IEs with similar types of activities (consulting, education, IT).

To give the project international status, the company CRYPTOLOGY KEY LABS LTD (Company number 15893692) was registered in London on 13 August 2024. According to the British registry Companies House, 50% of the shares belonged to Artem Yatsenko, who presumably acted as a nominal owner. The remaining shares were distributed among Vadym Voloshyn (13%), Allan Kurban-Magomedov (13%), Kostiantyn Hanych (12%), and Vladyslav Bychkov (12%).

The company later moved its registration to the address 86-90 Paul Street, London, known as a location for mass registration of virtual offices. In August 2025, Vadym Voloshyn completely sold his share of the stock, legally distancing himself from the British structure. Currently, CRYPTOLOGY KEY LABS LTD is in the status of a corporate law offender in Britain due to the overdue annual report and the initiation of compulsory closure proceedings.

Regulator's reaction and further activities

On 18 November 2025, the NSSC included Cryptology Key in the list of potentially dangerous SCAM projects due to signs of fraud and the absence of licenses. The co-owners of the trademark, Vadym Voloshyn and Allan Kurban-Magomedov, challenged this decision by filing a lawsuit with the Kyiv District Administrative Court. The ruling on the opening of the proceedings is dated 10 June 2026.

Despite court hearings and investigations, the Cryptology Key website continues to operate, offering courses priced from 700 to 1,500 USDT (equivalent to 29–62,000 UAH). The school operated without an educational license, hiding behind a fabricated partnership with the West Ukrainian National University, which officially denied any connection with the project.

The story demonstrates the risks of a model where personal charisma and the display of luxury replace transparent reporting and legal guarantees. While courts consider lawsuits and regulators check documents, the brand continues to sell trust to new clients, while the family of the deceased trader and his former investors remain at the centre of a financial drama.
