Steinmeier: Xi Jinping does not plan to discuss Ukraine with Trump and Putin

Leader of the People's Republic of China, Xi Jinping, has no intention of discussing the situation in Ukraine in a three-party format with US President Donald Trump and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This was stated by the head of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, after his visit to Beijing.

No signs of summit preparation

According to ZDF channel, Steinmeier emphasised that currently no activity is observed that would indicate preparation for a meeting of the leaders of the US, Russia and China on the issue of the Ukrainian conflict.

Europe must be at the negotiating table

The Chinese leader, according to the German President, expressed the conviction that the war in Ukraine is a European conflict. Therefore, in his view, representatives of European states must necessarily participate in any future negotiation processes aimed at resolving this conflict.
