Zelensky: Ukraine's security first, then discussion of Moscow's demands

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his position regarding the security demands put forward by Russia. The head of state emphasised that any discussion of these conditions is possible only once the war is over and Ukraine's security is ensured.

Criticism of the aggressor's position

Commenting on Moscow's intentions to obtain guarantees, Volodymyr Zelensky asked: «Вони агресори. Чого вони бояться? Нас?» (They are aggressors. What are they afraid of? Us?)

Threat to the European security architecture

According to the head of state, Russia seeks not only to obtain non-aggression guarantees but also to reach a separate agreement with the United States of America or the North Atlantic Alliance. Such a document, in Zelensky's assessment, could change the entire security system in Europe.

At the same time, the President emphasised that the main task remains the cessation of hostilities and the guarantee of security for Ukraine. Only after achieving these goals can one move on to discussing the demands put forward by the Russian side.
