167 people, including 22 children, evacuated from dangerous areas in Kherson region

Humanitarian mission on the right bank

During the period when a ceasefire was in effect in Kherson region to facilitate a humanitarian mission in Oleshky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used this window of opportunity to evacuate residents from the right-bank part of the region. This concerned settlements on Ukrainian-controlled territory located along the Dnipro, which were subjected to daily shelling by the Russians.

Evacuation results

As reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, civil-military cooperation units of the Southern Joint Forces Group, in coordination with local government representatives, relocated 167 civilians to safer areas of the region.

Conditions of the operation

The department emphasises that the evacuation took place under extremely difficult and risky conditions. Transport routes passed through mined and destroyed roads, as well as sections with burnt military equipment and civilian vehicles.
