Presidential address to parliament

Head of state Volodymyr Zelensky officially submitted a package of documents to the Verkhovna Rada regulating the further functioning of military restrictions in Ukraine. The initiatives concern the extension of martial law and general mobilisation.

Duration of restrictions

According to the submitted materials, it is proposed to extend the current regime for another three months. The new date for the expiry of martial law and mobilisation is set as 29 January 2027.

Approval procedure

Responsibility for the decision now shifts to the people's deputies. For the proposed changes to take effect, they must be reviewed and adopted by parliament. Without the support of the Verkhovna Rada, the extension of martial law and mobilisation is impossible.
