Taiwan authorities ban use of DeepSeek

Taiwan authorities have decided to ban the use of the DeepSeek artificial intelligence in government institutions, citing national security threats and data leakage risks.

According to reports by Bloomberg and Reuters, Taiwanese officials have been instructed to refrain from using this Chinese development. The country's Ministry of Digital Development emphasised that DeepSeek is linked to cross-border data transfers and may pose a threat to information security.

Previously, The New York Times noted that DeepSeek responses contain elements of Chinese propaganda and reflect Beijing's official position on key global issues. Journalists also conducted independent testing of the model and confirmed these findings.
