Outlook for electric pickup production
According to Tesla founder Elon Musk, production of the Cybertruck model at the Gigafactory in Texas state could be wound down as early as 2027. This decision is linked to demand for the vehicle proving significantly lower than the company's expectations.
Sales figures versus forecast
The commercial results of the electric pickup's sales significantly fail to meet the targets set in the business plan. Tesla had expected to sell 250,000 vehicles per year.
However, only 63,000 cars were sold in two years, indicating sales figures several times lower than forecast.
