Eva Misharova expressed her opinion regarding the videos that Igor Komarov published shortly before his death. In these recordings, the journalist described the operations of fraudulent call centres and named individuals he considered involved in the crimes. Misharova claims that he was actually just "reading from a note".

According to her, Komarov was allegedly forced to read this text, and he agreed to do so solely with the desire to preserve his life.

«Це все неправда на мільйон відсотків. Напевно, комусь було потрібно, щоб були названі якісь там імена та прізвища. Я не знаю цих імен і прізвищ» (This is all a million percent untrue. Presumably, someone needed certain names and surnames to be mentioned. I do not know these names and surnames)
