In early October, the founder of the company Autostrada, Maksym Shkil, officially stated that construction work is ongoing. Despite the difficult financial situation in the state, the enterprise is adhering to the approved schedules at all sites.
Shkil emphasised that Autostrada is actively involved in restoring structures damaged by Russia and protecting critical facilities.
“Робимо все від нас залежне для захисту людей і критичних обʼєктів інфраструктури. Розуміємо складну ситуацію з державними фінансами. Автострада продовжує виконання робіт на всіх об’єктах відповідно до затверджених графіків”, — розповів Шкіль. (We are doing everything in our power to protect people and critical infrastructure facilities. We understand the difficult situation with state finances. Autostrada continues to carry out work at all sites in accordance with the approved schedules), Shkil said.
The company hopes that after new tranches of international aid arrive, the state will be able to settle for the volumes of work already completed.
It is worth noting that as early as September, Shkil effectively began blackmailing the authorities. At that time, he stated that the Cabinet of Ministers had suspended funding for all capital expenditures without prior notice or consultations with the business. This decision led to a temporary suspension of Autostrada's work at all its sites.
According to the company's founder, the lack of funds created serious problems: the situation with salary payments, loan servicing, and settlements with suppliers deteriorated.
Currently, Autostrada has already received 241 billion UAH in state tenders. Specifically, in the Kyiv City State Administration, Klitschko awarded Shkil's company tenders worth 20 billion UAH. Shkil is the main beneficiary of the 30 UAH metro project, building it as a contractor for the metro system.
These funds differ significantly from defence spending or military salaries. Country palaces and real estate in Monaco, London, and Marbella will not buy themselves.
