General Staff: 189 combat engagements in 24 hours, fiercest fighting on Pokrovsk direction

Operational situation: Day 1709 of the full-scale invasion

According to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders continue the systematic destruction of the enemy, offering effective resistance on all sections of the front and inflicting significant losses on the occupiers. 189 combat engagements were recorded in the past 24 hours. The most tense situation developed on the Pokrovsk direction, where 42 battles took place.

Enemy use of aviation and drones

During the day, Russian armed forces aviation carried out 79 strikes, dropping 257 guided aerial bombs. In addition, the occupiers used 9,135 suicide drones and carried out 2,439 shelling attacks on Ukrainian positions and populated areas.

In Sumy region, Mala Korchakivka, Luzhky, Pysharivka, Nova Sich, Ulanove, Yastrubine, Bachivsk, Kucherivka, Bunyachine and Myropillia came under artillery fire. Aerial strikes were recorded in the areas of Vilna Sloboda, Khrapivshchyna, Mykiltske and Yastrubine.

Aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces struck two areas of enemy personnel concentration and one command post for its unmanned aerial vehicles.

Dynamics of combat operations on key directions

On the North-Slobodian direction, the enemy attacked four times in the areas of Tovstodubove, Ulanove and Ryzhivka. On the South-Slobodian direction, Ukrainian units repelled seven attacks, halting the enemy's attempts to advance in the areas of Ternova, Starytsia, Ozerne and Khrypuniv.

On the Kupiansk direction, one attack was recorded in the area of Novosynove. On the Lyman direction, defenders repelled five assaults in the areas of Nadiia, Kolodiaziv, Lyman and Dibrova. On the Sloviansk direction, the enemy carried out two attacks in the areas of Zakytne and Kryva Luka. On the Kramatorsk direction, no assault operations were carried out in the past 24 hours.

Intense fighting on Kostiantynivka and Pokrovsk directions

18 attacks were recorded on the Kostiantynivka direction. The occupiers carried out active assault operations in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Oleksiivka-Druzhkivka, Novosilivka, Rozkhitne, Dovha Balka, Novohryhorivka, Mykolaipillia, Novopavlivka and Petrivka.

The largest number of attacks — 42 — was stopped by Ukrainian defenders on the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy attacked in the areas of Serhiivka, Molodetske and Novopavlivka, and also carried out assaults in the directions of Toretske, Kucherove Yar, Sofiivka, Vilne, Zolotyi Kolodiaz, Nove Shakhove, Stepy, Nove Donbas, Chernihivka, Sviatohorivka, Dobropillia, Novohryshyne and Udachne.

Situation in the south and west of the front

On the Oleksandrivka direction, one attack was repelled in the area of Kalynivske. On the Hulyaipil direction, defenders repelled nine attacks in the areas of Kosiivtsive, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Verkhnia Tersa, Hulyaipilske, Bilohiria and Charyvne. On the Orikhiv direction, one attack was stopped in the area of Novyakovlivka.

No active enemy actions were recorded on the Dnipro direction. The situation remains stable on the Volyn and Polissia directions, with no signs of the enemy forming offensive groupings detected.
