Three times revised terms for a ceasefire

During the preparation of the ceasefire mechanism in the occupied Oleshky in Kherson region, the organisers reached preliminary agreements with Ukrainian troops on three occasions. However, the agreed terms were revised each time. The main reason for such changes was the troops' demands for additional security guarantees after the cessation of hostilities.

This is reported by Ukrainian Pravda, citing a source in the team of President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Demands for additional guarantees

According to the publication's interlocutor, during the preparation of the ceasefire, the parties had previously agreed on the terms three times, but Ukrainian troops deviated from the reached agreements, demanding additional guarantees that no problems would arise after the cessation of hostilities.

The source noted that organising the cessation of hostilities proved extremely difficult even within the Ukrainian military system.

Complications at the coordination stage

Meanwhile, according to him, this refers specifically to difficulties during the preliminary coordination of terms, rather than violations of the ceasefire that came into force on 27 October.
