Detentions near the court building
On the night before 31 October in Warsaw, near the premises of the Constitutional Tribunal, police detained four citizens. As reported by RMF24, three individuals entered the secured area by climbing over the perimeter fencing. The fourth was detained for using insulting language towards a law enforcement officer.
Official position of law enforcement
The Warsaw Police published a detailed statement on the X platform regarding the events that took place in the area of the Tribunal. The document emphasised that no means of direct coercion, specifically batons or handheld gas sprays, were used during the security operations.
(During the operations, no means of direct coercion in the form of batons or handheld gas sprays were used), the police stated.
Law enforcement officers emphasised that their actions were directed exclusively at carrying out lawful tasks: protecting public order, safeguarding property, and ensuring the safety of people who were inside the building and gathered in front of it.
Actions inside the premises
According to police representatives, their presence inside the Tribunal building was limited and carried out under a specific order. At approximately 2:30 am, a prosecutor present at the scene issued an instruction to establish the identities of the people who were in the premises.
(The actions of the police were focused on ensuring the security of the area around the Constitutional Tribunal. At the same time, at approximately 2:30 am, a prosecutor present at the scene gave law enforcement officers an order to establish the identities of the aforementioned people who were in the building. After their personal data was established, these people voluntarily left the Tribunal premises without police intervention. These were the only police actions inside the Tribunal, and they were carried out exclusively under the clear order of the authorised body), the police reported.
