Official admission of AI dependency

During a presentation of new artificial intelligence-based tools for the educational community, Google publicly admitted for the first time that its main search site no longer operates without the application of AI technologies.

Restrictions on search access

As The Guardian notes, developers discussed the possibility for schools and teachers to restrict or completely ban the use of neural networks during lessons. However, the company explains that due to the close link between search models and AI, in such cases, pupils and students lose access even to basic internet search functions.

Reaction from critics and authorities

Critics consider this situation a form of punishment for refusing to use Google's AI products. New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani joined the dissatisfaction with the tech giant's policy.

He accused the company of abusing its de facto monopoly position in the market and attempting to forcibly integrate artificial intelligence into children's educational process.
